Tom and Tran get back to basics at Dully Hill KFC. This is their homebase, their default setting for all things KFC. This is where the legend begins, the hunger is quenched and the mighty Krim Dusty and Dr Lad-licious find their greasy humble abode.

Context:

Pre-consumption (last 6 hours):

Tran:

- An apple, 3 pieces of vegimite toast

- 2 museli bars

Tom:

- Orange

Crave rating:

Tom:

"I need the cuddly sustinence of KFC" 6/8

Tran:

"Piece of chicken a day writes your worries away" 4.5/8

Days of abstinence

Tom:

16 Days

Tran:

5 Days

Store:

Grease Scale:

- Tabletops quite non-greasy and of high hygiene levels

- Floor, reasonably greasy, particularly near the window

Service:

- Served by a disengaged young lassy

- She dropped some of Tran's money (i.e greasy hands)

- Tom received a complementary fresh wipe due to his licious smile

Smell:

- Lacking in arousable odours. Step up Dully!

- Albeit, no foul whiffs

Serenity Factor

- Initially not very serene as there was an air of disruption from the fellow patrons, but as they filtered out, the sun dreamily danced through the windows and the atmosphere transformed itself into a 6.22/8 serenity level.

Food:

Tran:

Original Checken Tender snackbox & crusher

Volume: 3.14/8

Was lacking a greater amount of chips that i had desired, but due to the nature of the the original chicken tender snackbox, you only receive one piece of chicken so one would assmume that there would be more chips to subtitute the lack of meat.

Cook scale: 5/8

The chips were well done as was the chicken, right in the middle of what one would expect from your standard KFC sustenance.

Flavour: 4/8

Standard flavouring, nothing special on this one.

Crispiness: 6/8

The chips were crispy, just the way I like them, not the generic, soggy chips that I have experienced in the past. Chicken was mostly soggy, but not in a greasy way, like as though as it had been sitting out for a while, the tips of the tender however were exceptionally crunchy, creating and odd ying and yang sensation of textures on the back of the palette.

Tenderness: 6/8

Tenderness of chicken was standard, nothing special here, not too dry on the inside, nice little bit of moisture as it was chewed in the mouth.

Saltiness: 5.5/8

It was of sufficient saltiness. However it was unqiue in that there were actually a lot of salt granules on the chips and my fingers but for some reason that I cannot pinpoint, it didn't actually taste liked it looked like in term of saltiness, like as thought they used fake salt only for aesthetic reasons.

Greasiness: 4/8

Not very greasy, it is related to crispiness and tenderness as it a variable that links crispiness and tenderness together, average greasiness overall.

Krusher Operationality:

Yes

Krusher Quality: 4/8

It was more watered down than i would like, the chunks were absent but the flavour present, slightly below my expectations, but albeit average.

Overall: 5/8

Tom:

Popcorn chicken snackbox

Volume: 5.8/8

- Most definitely not enough food to satisfy my hunger, though for a snackbox it more than complys with the standard amounts of popcorn chicken

Cook scale: 6/8

- Very well done. The chips were particularly well done, giving them a nice, thick outer layer that contributed greatly to it's crispiness also

Flavour: 5.321/8

- I could taste all 11 secret herbs and spices, in all their individual glory. I did not wish to ever swallow such glorious succulent sustinence

Crispiness: 7.1/8

- The popcorn chicken was beautifully crispy. I do not believe I have tasted such exquisite KFC crispyness for quite some time, though the chips on the bottom of the box lacked in a crusty outer shell

Tenderness: 4.6/8

- To add to the excellent crispiness of the popcorn chicken, it's tender inside erupted on bite, revealing the protein filled meatiness we all love and enjoy. Most definitely would feed to my Grandma

Saltiness: 4.99/8

- Visible white particles gave indication to the prescence of salt. It perhaps could of done with a tad more, but I am not complaining.

Greasiness: 2.9/8

- Surprisingly not very greasy. Todays trip to Dully Hill was oddly un-greasified. This being said, it did not take away from the moist, tender nature of the food, but was just enough grease inside to maintain a high level of satisfaction.

Overall: 6.1/8

TnT approval?

We r8 dis 5/8 m8s overall

TnT recommends Dulwich Hill KFC for a good feed
